Coach Berke's Recap:

The much-improved eighth grade boys basketball team opened their season at home last night against the Treynor Cardinals, and lost a heartbreaker in the last second.  Final score was 34-36.

The Rams handled Treynor’s full court pressure and held the lead until there were 4 minutes remaining in the game.  At that point it became a seesaw battle until the end.

Leading the Rams in scoring was Brock Sell, who scored 16 points.  Sell also managed to pull down 7 rebounds and went 2-3 from the free throw line.  Others scoring in the game were A.J. Shiltz with 5, Tommy Johnson with 4, Colton Schutte, Jade Nanfito, Collin Lincoln, and Grant VonEssen each managed 2, and Nolan Little added 1.

The 8th graders travel to Lewis Central on Monday to take on the Titans.  Game time is 4:15.
