Carroll vs. Glenwood Football Preview

It's week three of Friday night lights and the Rams are going up against a top 10 ranked team in Carroll. Carroll is 2-0 on the season so far with wins against South Central Calhoun 56-20 and Sioux City Bishop Heelan 23-20. The tigers are lead by Kolby Molinsky who is the quarterback. Molinsky has thrown for 329 yards on the season and three touchdowns. He has also rushed for a touchdown. Carroll has two good athletes in their backfield with Dayton Ross and Ethan Rummel. Ross has 217 yards on the season with two touchdowns on 8 yards a carry. Rummel has 166 yards on the season with four touchdowns on 5.7 yards a carry. Drayton Ross is also a threat catching the ball. He has two touchdowns on five receptions and 93 yards. Carroll's defense is lead by Tanner Higgins who has over 11 tackles on the season with 7 of them going for a loss. Look to hear Drayton Ross's name called on the defensive side of the ball as well.

Glenwood is coming off wins vs. two Council Bluff schools where the defense has only allowed 6 points. Led by Caleb Sanders, the Ram defense is one of the best in a while. The defensive line is one of the best in the state and everything behind them is not a drop off. Look for the defensive line and linebackers to plug up the holes for the tigers running game this evening.

X-FACTOR

The passing game for Carroll is the x-factor tonight. Last year Carroll defeated Glenwood 42-20 in a playoff match-up. Kolby Molinsky threw for 229 yards on the Rams with 5 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Matt Pauk did run for 218 yards against the Rams last season but he graduated and won't be on the field tonight. I look for Carroll to try and throw the ball on the Rams tonight especially with Glenwood's defensive line stopping the run.  The Rams won't be caught off guard this time around and I don't see Molinsky throwing for 5 touchdowns again.

Final Score

Glenwood Rams 30 Carroll Tigers 20.
