The 8th grade volleyball girls came to an official end of their season on Friday, Oct. 17 in a Triangular with Wilson and Kirn at A.L. The A and B teams were both successful in the tourney, both winning their pools and coming out with 1st place.  The A team easily handled Wilson with scores of: 25-7, 25-11.  The B team had success as well with scores of: 25-19, 25-18 in two.  The next round against Kirn was also Glenwood’s with A scores of: 25-10, 25-12 in two.  The B team also beat Kirn with scores of: 25-11, 25-5 in easily handled sets.  The A team had to handle some difficulty when both of their middles were gone and so they had to have their line-up changed.  But, like champs they rose above it and played their hearts out.  The following six girls were brought the victory for the night:  Jozie K., Grace B., Elle S., Kelly E., Avery B., and Tori H.  The girls brought an impressive 98% from the serving line and 9 blocks in the first three games.  All the girls had kills as well.  In the 2nd match against Kirn, the team tallied a 93% serving stat, and 7 blocks. All girls had kills in this game as well.  Fierce determination and a willingness to adjust to new positions brought this team together for these impressive scores.  The B team was made up of the following players:  Kalainee T., Cadyn Y., Camryn Y., Delaney M., Marissa A., Erin S., and Sophie B.  The team struggled as a whole from the serving line, but some individuals had impressive stats.  Kalainee T. was 8 of 10 from the line, Cadyn Y. was 9 of 9, as well as Erin S.  Camryn Y. was recognized for outstanding defensive play along with Marissa A. In the match against Kirn the serving momentum got better and the team had an impressive 93% serving stat.  Congrats to both teams for ending the season strong!! The teams will also be participating in a fun overnight tourney in November.
