Coach Howard's Recap vs. Red Oak

Congrats to the 8th grade volleyball girls for defeating Red Oak.  The A team won with scores of: 25-15, 25-11, and 15-9.  The girls played their best ball of the season.  Aggressive play at the net is what made the difference, along with outstanding serving.  The girls combined for 79 hits in three games and a total of 12 kills.  Elle S. and Bree S. had 4 each, along with Grace B. and Jozie K. with 2 each.  Bree S. had 4 blocks, and Kelly E. Morgan S. each had blocks.  Avery B. and Camryn Y. were credited with outstanding defensive play.  Kelly E. had an amazing 26 for 27 serves from the line.  All girls combined for a 97% serving stat in three games.  Congrats to the A-2 team for also defeating Red Oak with scores of: 25-18, 25-19, 15-12.  The girls struggled in game one and rallied at the end to defeat the Tigers.  Kalainee T. came up big in the front row with 17 hits and 4 of them kills.  The team had a total of 62 hits on the night.  Tori H. and Marissa A. both had kills.  Marissa A. and Kalainee T. each had one block.  Delaney M. and Camryn Y. had a total of 20 combined sets.  Erin S. and Camryn Y. were credited with outstanding defense.  They were also credited with great leadership.  The C team lost their match but won game one 26-24 in a hard fought game.  The second game was 20-25, and 8-15.  Kaylin G. was 8 of 8 serving, Savannah R was 12 of 12, Amanda K. was 5 of 6 serving, and Mackenzie W. was 6 of 6 serving.  Cadyn Y played her best games of the season with great defense.  Viv P. and Grace M. passed well and were credited with leadership.
