Last night the Boys and Girls Track Teams picked up victories at the Hawkeye Ten Southern Meet in Shenandoah. Hear what the Ram Coaches had to say.
"There were lot of good performances last night. Sadey Allgood had possibly her best meet of her career, running really good 400 legs on the sprint medley and 4x4 as well as a great opening leg on the 4x200. It was nice to have Devon Bomer and Jaeda Wilson sprinting in competition as both girls are talented sprinters coming back after dealing with some lower leg pain. Danielle Hardcastle continues to impress in the high jump and on the track as she jumped a personal best 5-1 and ran an impressive anchor leg in the distance medley. Sydney Biermann had her first career win in the discus as we continue to show good depth and potential in the throws." Coach Faust
"Our overall depth was the deciding factor in winning the team title ahead of a very talented Shenandoah team. Overall, we are a young but making some strides in our maturity and competitive toughness. We still have a ways to go in these areas. That toughness, coupled with our ability to stay healthy as we progress through the season and get in great shape, will determine how good we can be as a team." Coach Faust
"We were very excited to get on the track outside and see what we were capable of doing. For the most part, we were loading a lot of relays and seeing if we could put up some good times, but we were also evaluating some individuals to gauge where they are for some upcoming meets. We ran a lot of kids hard with multiple events too (some more as a glorified practice) but mainly for us to see how they were able to repeat and respond in their performances." Coach Starner
"Winning 15 of the 19 events and taking every relay was pretty impressive feat, but more importantly, we had so many personal bests on the evening that regardless of their placing, we were pleased with their performances. We also have an idea in what we have to get better at and tweak between now and Ram Relays on Monday." Coach Starner
