Last night the 7-14 Rams went on the road and defeated the 8-12 Harlan Cyclones 59-56. Glenwood advanced to the second round of Class 4A Regionals with the win over Harlan.

Despite losing twice this season to the Cyclones, the Rams played with confidence from the tip-off. Glenwood jumped out to a 20-9 lead over Harlan after the first quarter. Harlan would win the second quarter (14-12) but found themselves down at halftime 32-23 against Glenwood.

A big run by the Cyclones gave them a lead in the third quarter 36-32 but the Rams would not back down. Glenwood would head into the fourth quarter with a three point lead (44-41) over Harlan. The fourth quarter consisted with clutch basket after clutch basket by both teams. No basket was bigger than junior Danielle Hardcastle’s three pointer that gave Glenwood a 59-56 lead with eighteen seconds to go in the ball game. Harlan would have three shots to tie the Rams but none would go in as the Rams clinched the game by three.
