Glenwood girls soccer was defeated by Sioux City on Saturday. Rileigh Spahn had 26 saves on the aafternoon.

Coach Benson's recap of the game-

"We played defense most of the first half trying to prevent #7 Elyse Huber from scoring since she is their leading goal scorer and a Division 1 recruit to UNL.  We played solid defense and were able to prevent her from scoring until 5 seconds left in the first half.  We got tired right at the end of the first half and that was all she needed to find an opening in our defense."

"In the second half, we held them scoreless for about the first 12 minutes.  Then, #7 found the back of the net again.  She was able to find it two more times in the second half on breakaways as well."

"I knew going into the game we were going to have to play a more defensive game.  I was proud of the way we prevented as much as we could.  We even had some opportunities to score a goal ourselves, but we could not figure out how to shut down #7.  We played both tight and loose on her as well as trying different players playing defense on her.  Rileigh came up huge and had some amazing saves for us as well!  Even though the outcome was not in our favor, I am still seeing improvement from our team and that is what we need!" - Coach Benson
