Glenwood 7 Red Oak 2 as Ram Tennis Picked Up Another Road Win

Glenwood Tennis continued their great play against the Red Oak Tigers Monday. The Rams defeated the Tigers 7-2 on the road to pick up their fourth win of the season.

Alex Chekal, Sam Lauritsen, Adam Konfrst and Josh Ruth all picked up wins in singles. Alex Chekal defeated former state qualifier Weston Rolenc 10-0. Senior Sam Lauritsen dominated his entire match with some great tennis. Lauritsen defeated Ryan Messinger 10-1. Adam Konfrst won 10-5 over a tough opponent in Asher Hinshaw of Red Oak. Chekal, Lauritsen and Konfrst all remain undefeated in singles and doubles. Junior Josh Ruth had a great win for the Rams by defeating Garrett Rolenc 10-6. Ruth played some of his best tennis last night and is looking better each and every match.

The Rams swept doubles winning 10-2, 10-2 and 11-10 (7-2). The number three doubles team of Josh Ruth and Carter Benson came back from being down 3-6 to defeat Garrett Rolenc and Sean Griffen 11-10 (7-3) in tiebreak. This was a great win for both Ruth and Carter to build some confidence for the remainder of the season. Sam Lauritsen and Adam Konfrst once again looked great at the number one doubles position by defeating Rolenc/Guerra 10-2. Kris Mintle and Alex Chekal rallied off ten straight games to defeat Hinshaw/Messinger 10-2 at the number two position.
