Koehler Wins Iowa USA Wrestling State Championship While Powerhouse Girls Wrestling Club Brings Home Trophy

This weekend Glenwood youth wrestlers competed at the Iowa USA Wrestling State Championships held at the US Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Kamilla Phillippus finished third in the PeeWee division. Sophia Carnes finished fourth in the Intermediate division. These girls also contributed towards the Powerhouse Girls Wrestling Club first ever Girls Team Trophy. Congratulations girls! The Powerhouse Girls Wrestling Club is coached by Jessica Phillippus.

Mason Koehler wrestled tough and found himself on top of the podium once again. Mason finished first place in the Intermediate division. With his win, Koehler now has a chance to go for the Triple Crown (Goes to the kid who wins state in Folkstyle, Freestyle and Greco-Roman). This tournament was folkstyle.

Way to go Glenwood youth wrestling!

This Sunday will be the AAU Districts to qualify for AAU State. Good luck to all youth wrestlers! GO RAMS!
