Monday the Glenwood soccer team defeated Sergeant Bluff-Luton 2-0. Glenwood's Nacho Vadillo scored the first goal of the game off a corner kick from Turner Reich in the third minute. Nick Embray scored the second goal from a pass by Jonathan Tallmon towards the end of the first half (31:23). Blake Von Essen was in goal for the Rams but saw little action on the night. Great win Glenwood!
"The back line played great for their first game starting together. They had 2 or 3 breakdowns, but were able to recover. The team in general communicated well and were able to possess the ball well for periods in the game. The midfield played well and were able to create the opportunities to score we want from them. " said Coach Lovato
"This game was a team effort, all levels played well. We still have a lot to improve on. The boys know what they need to do in training to prepare for TJ on Thursday. I am pleased at how our central midfield played. Nacho Vadillo was able to score his first career goal and repeatedly stall SB-L on our end of the field. The first win of the season is always the hardest. Now we have to keep up the intensity and prepare for TJ." said Coach Lovato
