Ram Baseball Picking Up Momentum

Over the weekend Glenwood defeated Red Oak 10-0, 10-3 after falling to Atlantic 2-1 and Sioux City East 10-5. The Rams have been playing well as of late. Glenwood has now won five out of their last seven games. This week the baseball team will once again have a big week. Glenwood has five games on the schedule.

 

Glenwood is now 8-13-1 on the season. The Rams have recorded 163 hits on 572 plate appearances. Junior Kaden Wray still leads Glenwood with 26 hits and a batting average of .400. Junior Cade Van Ness has been great as of late and now sits second on the team with an average of .328. Andrew Holiday, Michael Radford and Pierce Harrington each have two wins pitching this season.

 

Glenwood 1 Atlantic 2

Cade Van Ness lead the way for Glenwood by going 2-2 at the plate. Logan Strong and Michael Radford each had one hit on the night. Glenwood had four hits on the night but could only score one against Atlantic. Colton Schutte pitched against the Trojans. Colton only gave up two hits on the mound while striking out nine batters.

 

Glenwood 5 Sioux City East 10

Josh Ruth, Ethan Fisher and Cade Van Ness each recorded multiple hits against Sioux City East. The Rams scored five runs off eleven hits against S.C. East. Van Ness went 3-3 at the plate with two doubles. Sioux City East scored their ten runs off fourteen hits.

 

Glenwood 10 Red Oak 0

Glenwood had the bats going against the Tigers. The Rams scored one run in the second, six in the fourth and three in the sixth to defeat Red Oak 10-0. Colton Schutte lead the Rams at the plate. Schutte went 3-3 and scored a run for the Rams. Josh Ruth, Kade Wray and Cade Van Ness all recorded two hits against the Tigers. Ethan Fisher earned the win by giving up zero runs and striking out seven batters.

 

Glenwood 10 Red Oak 3

Cade Van Ness hit his third home run of the season in the second game against Red Oak. Van Ness continued his hot streak by going 2-3 at the plate (3 RBIs). Colton Schutte went 2-4 at the plate. Glenwood scored their ten runs off nine hits. Andrew Holiday earned the victory after pitching five innings for the Rams and only giving up two runs off four hits.
