Ram Baseball Splits with Knights, Fall Against S B-L

Thursday night Glenwood traveled to Kuemper for a double header. Glenwood lost the first game 3-4 to the Knights and would then defeat Kuemper 9-7 in the second. The Rams had a quick turnaround when they played Sergeant Bluff-Luton on Friday. Sergeant B-L would defeat Glenwood 14-1. Glenwood is now 4-3 on the season and will play at Clarinda tonight.

 

 

Game 1 at Kuemper

Senior AJ Slaughter started on the mound for Glenwood. Slaughter would pitch six innings and record thirteen strikeouts. AJ would give up two runs on four hits. Sophomore Ethan Fisher finished the last 2 ⅔ innings on the mound. Fisher would strikeout four while giving up two runs on two hits. Ethan Fisher, Cade Van Ness and Colton Schutte all recorded one RBI in the game. Mavrick Decker, Ethan Fisher and Cole Loeffelbein each scored a run for the Rams.

Game 2 at Kuemper

Glenwood pitched four arms in the second game to secure the win. Colton Schutte (4 ⅔), Cole Loeffelbein (1), Pierce Harrington (⅔), and Kaden Wray (⅔) all saw time on the mound. Schutte was awarded the win for Glenwood. Schutte recorded nine strikeouts while giving up one run on three hits. Mavrick Decker and Jake King each drove in two runs for Glenwood. AJ Slaughter also had a good game going 3-4 at the plate.

Sergeant Bluff-Luton scored fourteen runs in five innings to defeat the Rams 14-1. Glenwood would score their only run in the third inning. Andrew Holiday pitched three innings giving up eight runs on nine hits. Cade Van Ness pitched two innings giving up six runs on four hits.
