Glenwood defeated Carroll Kuemper on the road 3-1 yesterday. The Rams scored their first goal (4:19) after Cole Fuoss's throw in assisted the goal by Jon Tallmon. Nach Vadillo scored the second goal at 21:29 in the first half. Glenwood's final goal was scored by John Palmer assisted by Turner Reich at 33:35. The Rams are now 4-4 on the season and 2-2 in the conference.
"The boys communicated well in the first half. The goals scored were direct results of their communication. Vadillo had a very impressive goal, taking the ball on the left side, maneuvering past 2-3 defenders and putting the shot in the back of the net off the far post. That goal got the boys going and communicating even more that they were previously. The last goal of the first half was great seeing Reich work in the Kuemper box to get a great slot to John Palmer for an easy tap in goal. The lone goal by Kuemper was a hard shot at Von Essen. Von Essen was unable to handle it cleanly, and Kuemeper was able to tap in the rebound." said Coach Lovato
"The game marked the second win in a row. Our record stands at 4-4, which is great heading into two tough games next week at home against Tri-Center and St. Alberts. The boys are starting to understand what Coach Ruth and I are asking from them. They communicated, passed and attacked the Kuemper goal well in the first half. The second half saw our communication dip and so did our play. Our communication continues to get better each game, which is a good trend. Our next step is to continue it throughout the entire game. When we accomplish this, the boys will see their scoring and possession increase. " said Coach Lovato
Great win Glenwood, way to go!
