Yesterday the boys tennis team took their thirteen regular season match win streak on the road against a tough and undefeated Atlantic Trojan team. The matchup was between two 2-0 teams as Glenwood has defeated Southwest Valley 7-2 and Lewis Central 9-0 while Atlantic defeated Carroll Kuemper 6-3 and Creston 9-0.

In singles Glenwood's top three players (Alex Chekal, Sam Lauritsen and Adam Konfrst) all played their best tennis of the season. Alex Chekal defeated Grant Podhajsky of Atlantic 10-5 at number one. Sam Lauritsen defeated Cooper McDermott of Atlantic 10-7 and Adam Konfrst defeated Luke Hohenberger of Atlantic 10-5. The Trojans would go on to win the 4,5 and 6 spots in singles to make the match tied 3-3 heading into doubles. Glenwood flexed their muscles in doubles by winning both the number 1 and number 2 doubles matches. Glenwood's number one doubles team of Sam Lauritsen and Adam Konfrst played electric and defeated a state returning team of Podhajsky/McDermott by a score of 10-3. Alex Chekal and Kris Mintle played well together and showed their skills by defeating Flory/Williams 10-1 in the number two doubles. Atlantic would win the number three doubles 2-10.

The Rams won the match 5-4 over a tough Atlantic Trojan team. Glenwood played their best tennis of the season. This match was good for the guys especially this early on in the season. They were battle tested and they responded well on the road.

Good win boys! GO RAMS!
