Rams Looking for Bats to Get Going

Glenwood Baseball is off to a slow start this summer. The Rams are 0-6-1 on the season but will look forward to turning around things fast.

Friday the Rams started to get back on track by earning a tie 3-3 against Sergeant Bluff-Luton (weather). Junior Kaden Wray had the hot bat against Sergeant Bluff-Luton by going 2-3 from the plate and scoring one of the three runs for the Rams. Junior Logan Strong and Culton Schutte scored the other two runs for Glenwood. Senior Josh Ruth also had a great night at the plate after going 2-4 with a double. Andrew Holiday and Cade Van Ness both pitched for the Rams. Van Ness had seven strikeouts in three innings of pitching and did not give up a run.

As a team the Rams are hitting .203 from the plate. If the Rams can get their team batting average up they could make a little run in the win column.

Junior Colton Schutte is leading the Rams on the pitching mound. Schutte has pitched twelve innings this season and currently has an ERA of 0.58. The Rams have thrown seven different pitchers in their first seven contests (Colton Schutte, Andrew Holiday, Pierce Harrington, Michael Radford, Cade Van Ness, Eli Bales, and Ethan Fisher).

As far as bats go, Junior Kaden Wray is leading the Rams with eight hits on twenty-three at bats (.348 average). Ethan Fisher, Josh Ruth and Eli Bales all have recorded five hits or more on the season.

While the Rams are currently struggling in the win column, I look for this team to bounce back. Keep it up boys, GO RAMS!
