Rams Soar Past the Trojans

Glenwood looked like the number two ranked team in Class 3A Tuesday as they rolled past Atlantic 64-31. The Rams remain undefeated (5-0) on the season after their revenge win over Atlantic. Christian Stanislav was awarded the Player of the Game as he lead the Rams in scoring with seventeen points. Senior forward Andrew Blum also has a stellar performance by once again recording a double/double on the night.

A red hot start for Glenwood caused Coach Jenkins to call a quick timeout as his Trojans were down 9-0. Nate Mohr and Andrew Blum would trade buckets before Coach Jenkins would have to call his second timeout of the first quarter as the Rams took the lead 18-2. Glenwood’s defense held strong and did not give up a single field goal in the first quarter as the Rams went into the second quarter up 18-4. Atlantic and Glenwood went basket for basket in the second quarter and the Rams went up 36-20 at halftime.

The second half consisted of great defense by the Rams as they would only give up eleven second half points. Atlantic scored five in the third and six in the fourth quarter. A big reason Glenwood held Atlantic to only thirty-one points was holding Austin Alexander under ten points. 6’7” point guard Alexander scored eight points on the night but was averaging nineteen points coming into this ball game.

If Glenwood continues to play unselfish and keep up their defensive pressure, look for these Rams to continue their streak.

Friday the 5-0 Rams will travel and take on the 2-3 Denison Monarchs.
