The opening night was finally here and the Rams did not disappoint. After a fast start to go along with great defensive pressure, Glenwood defeated Thomas Jefferson 73-25.

Junior Christian Stanislav lead the Rams with eighteen points from the floor. Stanislav also controlled the offensive glass to help the Rams get out to their early lead. “Christian played a great game. He got a lot of offensive boards, he played physical and was great on the defensive end. A great start for Christian.” said Coach Schulte on his Junior forward’s season opening performance.

Eleven of the Rams fifteen players contributed in the scoring column. Coach Schulte was happy with the way Glenwood played against Thomas Jefferson. “We played really good team basketball, we played pretty unselfish. Our defensive communication was probably the best I have seen in awhile.” said Coach Schulte

Defense was key in the first half as the Rams held the Yellow Jackets to only seven first half points. Coach Schulte credited that to the team's’ defense. “We are athletic enough to where we can play ninety-four feet. That is definitely a strength of ours.” said Coach Schulte

Next up for the Rams will be the Creston Panthers on Friday. Glenwood will travel to Creston for their first conference game of the season.
