Tonight the 8-2 Glenwood Rams will travel up to Carroll, Iowa and take on the 10-0 Carroll Tigers. These teams faced off in Glenwood week three and the Tigers came back to defeat the Rams 21-12. The winner of this match up will play in the UNI-Dome next Thursday night for the semi-finals of the state playoffs.

Last week the Tigers of Carroll defeated Sergeant Bluff-Luton by a score of 34-14. The Rams are coming off their big win on the road against undefeated Storm Lake by a score of 44-22.

The Tigers are lead by quarterback Kolby Molinsky who has thrown for 1,800 yards on the season with 19 touchdowns and only four interceptions. Carroll has two good running backs in Dayton Ross and Ethan Rummel who have rushed for 951 and 824 yards on the season. Combined both running backs have produced 22 rushing touchdowns. Ross is also the Tigers leading receiver on the season with 532 yards and 9 receiving touchdowns. Carroll's defense is great at causing turnovers. This season the Tigers have caused 19 turnovers. Zach Promes is their ball hawk with four interceptions while Landon Hinman has recovered four fumbles. Dylan Millermon is their kickoff return specialist with 104 kickoff return yards.

The Rams are led by Senior quarterback Kolten Wilwerding. Wilwerding has 1,386 passing yards with 18 touchdowns. He is also a threat with his legs. Wilwerding has seven touchdowns on the ground and has turned up 457 yards. The Senior running back Cole Loeffelbein is a beast running the football. Loeffelbein has 1,048 yards on the ground this season with 16 touchdowns. The receiving core for Glenwood is full of athletes. Mavrick Decker and Andrew Blum are Wilwerding's favorite targets. Both receivers are dangerous in the open field and can gain yards after catches. Decker leads the team with 604 yards and nine touchdowns on the season.

Time to talk the defense of the Rams. Glenwood is led by Caleb Sanders. Sanders is a tough defensive lineman for the Rams who is great at busting up the run and chasing down the opposing team's quarterback. Caleb has five solo sacks on the season and is tied with Senior linebacker Jon Stavas with 50.5 tackles. Jon Stavas and Jake Clark run the show from their linebacker positions. Both players are smart while pursuing the football and putting their defense in the right positions.

X-factors for tonight's game. THE DEEP BALL and TURNOVERS. Week three when these two teams collided turnovers hurt the Rams and gave the Tigers easy points. Tigers linebacker Tanner Higgins took back a pick six that was huge in their victory. Carroll also missed a couple wide open deep balls that didn't go their way but could tonight.

Final Take. Glenwood is hungry and they like playing the underdog role. I can tell you from my interviews that this team is not satisfied with making it this far and will do everything they can to take down the undefeated Tigers. This time around I see Glenwood taking care of the football and beating Carroll on the road to advance to the UNI-Dome.

Final Prediction

Glenwood 28 Carroll 21

As always, good luck Rams! Play together, play hard, and LEAVE YOUR LEGACY!

GO RAMS!
