Last night the boys played their season opener against Southwest Valley. Despite missing one of their top players the Rams stepped up and defeated Southwest Valley 7-2. Glenwood's top three in singles Sam Lauritsen, Adam Konfrst and Kris Mintle all looked impressive in their matches. Lauritsen, Konfrst and Mintle all won their singles 8-2. Sophomore Carter Benson and Senior Kyhler Campbell both won their first varsity matches. Junior Josh Ruth lost 6-8 in a hard fought battle. Sam Lauritsen and Adam Konfrst teamed up for the first time in doubles and impressed the crowd. Great communication and play helped Lauritsen and Konfrst defeat Nic Frede and Dalton Davis 8-1. In the number two doubles spot Kris Mintle and Carter Benson came back to defat Bryce Newtwon and John Kinser 8-5.  The Junior Varsity also looked impressive by only losing two out of ten matches.
