Three Rams Earn Spots on Trojan All-Tournament Volleyball Team

This weekend the Rams traveled to Atlantic, Iowa for the Trojan Varsity Volleyball Tournament. Glenwood went 3-2 on the day while Brielle Smith, Cameron Rounds and Elle Scarborough made the All-Tournament Team. St. Albert won the tournament after going 5-0 on the day. The second place team (Treynor) finished 4-1. Round one went to Glenwood as they swept Winterset 2-0. The game scores were 21-19 and 21-15. Glenwood had sixteen kills and served seven aces against Winterset. Brielle Smith served four aces to lead the team. Paige Hays and Emily Todd each had four kills to lead the Rams. Round Two Glenwood swept Underwood 2-0. Glenwood won 21-16 and 21-7. Ram Senior Sierra Stouder went 10-10 from the service line and recorded four aces for the Rams. Paige Hays lead the Rams in kills once again with six. St. Albert defeated Glenwood 21-19 and 21-13 in the third round. The Rams weren’t as sharp in this match as Glenwood went .143 in kill efficiency.  Junior Cera Gray went 6-6 from the service line and recorded two aces to lead the Rams. Paige Hays and Brielle Smith lead the Rams in kills with four apiece. The Rams would bounce back and defeated Atlantic in round four 2-0. Glenwood won 21-12 and 21-10 against the Trojans. Paige Hays, Brielle Smith and Sierra Stouder all recorded four kills for the Rams. The Rams had nineteen assists in the match with their leader being Cera Gray, who recorded ten against the Trojans. Treynor would knock off the Rams in round five to decide which team would finish second. The Cardinals defeated Glenwood in straight sets 21-14 and 21-18. Glenwood went 34-34 on serves but that wasn’t enough against the Cardinals. Todd, Stouder and Hays all lead the Rams with four kills.

Glenwood is now 9-7 on the season and 1-1 in the conference. Next up for the Rams will be the Shenandoah Fillies on September 12th. Tomorrow’s matchup will be the home opener for Glenwood. Come and support the Rams!
