For the second time in four years the Glenwood Rams are heading back to the Wells Fargo Arena. Glenwood defeated Harlan 82-69 tonight in the Substate Final.

Harlan started the night out shooting lights out from the floor and took a 11-3 lead over Glenwood with 5:30 to go in the first quarter. Senior Jacob Hansen got the Cyclones off to a great start by hitting three 3-pointers in the first quarter. Glenwood would bounce back and took a 19-18 lead at the end of the first quarter behind a pair of Christian Stanislav three pointers.

Glenwood scored nine straight points to go up 28-18 in the second quarter. Harlan would go on a big run of their own cutting Glenwood’s lead down to four 34-30 with 1:45 to go in the first half. Glenwood took a 37-35 halftime lead over Harlan behind twelve points from Nate Mohr.

Once again the Rams came out on fire in the third quarter. Glenwood scored twenty points in the third quarter behind big buckets by Stanislav and Mohr. Christian scored ten points in the third quarter to lead all Rams.

Glenwood took a four point 57-53 lead into the fourth quarter. The Cyclones would only score thirteen points in the fourth quarter while the Rams scored twenty five. No player was more clutch down the stretch than Glenwood’s senior Nate Mohr. Mohr would hit a couple of big threes and free throws to clinch Glenwood’s state tournament berth.

Glenwood will play next Tuesday at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. The time and opponent will most likely be announced tomorrow.
