Trojans Win by One as Glenwood's Season Ends

Tonight Glenwood played in an atmosphere I will never forget. Both Atlantic and Glenwood fans drove to Harlan in support of their basketball teams. The bleachers were packed from top to bottom with fans that would cheer on their teams from tip-off until the final buzzer. Two Hawkeye Ten teams that were both 18-5 on the season played for the right to go onto the State Tournament in Wells Fargo. The Atlantic Trojans defeated Glenwood by one point 69-68.
The game started off with Glenwood scoring the first basket to lead Atlantic 2-0. After that the Rams would go cold on the offensive side of the court as Atlantic jumped out to an early lead 13-8. Despite Glenwood shooting poorly in the first half the Trojans only lead the Rams 31-23 at halftime. Sophomore Christian Stanislav was the leading scorer for Glenwood heading into halftime with eight points. Andrew Blum scored six in the first half and grabbed thirteen rebounds!
The second half started off with Glenwood having a huge third quarter. Glenwood scored twenty five points behind some great mid-range jumpers by Junior Andrew Blum. Heading into the fourth quarter Glenwood had a two point lead over Atlantic 42-40. Glenwood and Atlantic went bucket for bucket in the fourth quarter. Junior guard Nate Mohr caught fire in the second half where he scored twenty four of his game high twenty six points. Foul trouble for Glenwood was a factor down the stretch with Andrew Blum fouling out of the game with 1:06 to go. Down the stretch Atlantic hit big three pointers and made free throws to pull off the win by one.
Atlantic advanced to the State Tournament with their 69-68 win over Glenwood. Best of luck at the State Tournament!
Glenwood ended their season at 18-6 overall. The Rams had a terrific season and the future looks bright. Glenwood will return all starters and role players that played tonight in their loss against the Trojans. Juniors Nate Mohr, Andrew Blum, Cody Buresh, Nate Kennedy and Sophomore Christian Stanislav who are all in the starting lineup will be ready for a great season next year. Glenwood will also return their entire bench besides one next season and they will look to increase their roles.
Finally I would like to personally thank Senior Kody Camden for all what he has done for the Glenwood Basketball Program over the last four season! You are a great role model to future Ram Basketball Players by playing all four seasons. Best of luck with your future plans after graduating in the spring.
Great season Glenwood! Thanks for all the memories you gave the Glenwood Community. GO RAMS!
