Glenwood traveled to Atlantic, Iowa for a matchup against the Atlantic Trojans. Atlantic scored first at the 27:48 mark to take the lead 1-0. The score would remain the same heading into halftime. A second half goal (62:28) by Jordan Renshaw tied up the game and the score remained tied at the end of regulation. A late goal (43 seconds to go in overtime) by Nacho Vadillo lifted the Rams past Atlantic 2-1!
“The boys came out and played well. Our communication was consistent throughout most of the game. We had multiple shots on goal and really controlled the game. Our strikers were making good runs to create space, and our mids were making passes to help them create space. Unfortunately it took a while to score our first goal. The boys were energized after Renshaw scored and had Atlantic on their heels the rest of the game.It was a nice win. We needed that heading to Carroll Kuemper on Thursday. The boys were able to build confidence and end a 3 game scoreless losing streak. The boys now see how their communication level directly correlates to their play. We still have some things to work on to get to the level of play we
expect. We will continue to work on those and get better every training session.”
Jordan Renshaw was awarded the game ball.
Great comeback Glenwood!
