7th Grade Rams 4-0 After Win Against Atlantic

Coach Haynes Recap- 7th Grade Girls Basketball took on the Trojans from Atlantic last night at the High School Aux. Gym.  The game was close, with the game tied 16-16 at halftime.  The girls did a nice job of forcing turnovers with their press, capitalizing on fastbreaks, and shooting an outstanding 14 out of 17 from the freethrow line to win 36-29 to improve to 4-0 on the season.  Leading the way on offense for the Rams was Jenna H. with 19 points (11 of 13 from the line), Kate H. with 8 points, and Molly W. with 5 points (3 of 4 from the line).  Hallee L.

Tigers Defeat Rams on Pink Out Night

Last night the Red Oak Tigers defeated Glenwood 63-54. The Tigers jumped out to an early 16-9 lead over Glenwood after the first quarter. Red Oak did a good job creating turnovers against Glenwood during the first half which lead to transition baskets for the Tigers. The Rams would come back in the second half but the Tigers would pull away in the end. Sierra Athen had a great game for the Tigers. Athen scored 22 points for Red Oak to lead all scorers on the night. The Rams were lead by Freshman Elle Scarborough.

7th Grade Improved to 3-0 After Win at Harlan

Coach Haynes's Recap-7th Grade Girls Basketball took their 2-0 record to Harlan Tuesday night for a match-up against the Cyclones.  A close first quarter saw the Rams leading 8-4 but the girls took control in the second quarter to lead by 14 at half time.  Improved team defense and a more patient half court offense led the way to a 35-16 victory for the Rams to improve to 3-0 on the season.  Jenna H. led the team in scoring with 13 points and Molly W. scored 8 points.  Kate H., Ryley N., and Carissa G. each scored 4 points and Hallee L.

Changes Have Been Made as New Complex Up For Vote

The first bond vote did not pass back on April 4th of 2017 but with adjustments made the community looks to pass the new bond on February 6th. A year ago the community in Glenwood voted for a bond that was for 6 million dollars to improve Glenwood’s activity complex. The bond did not pass. A new bond vote for the activities complex will be on February 6th that is for 3.7 million dollars. Below is a list of facts on the details of the NEW adjustments on the new activities complex.

Glenwood has five conference games (that count) remaining on the schedule. Yes, there are games that Hawkeye Ten Teams play that don’t even count towards their H-10 record. Why? I have no idea. That being said below are the conference standings through 1/10/2018 and the remaining schedules for the boys and girls. Enjoy!

7th Grade Girls Pick Up Second Straight Win

Coach Haynes Recap-On Tuesday night, the 7th grade girls basketball team took on the Shenandoah Fillies in their second game of the season.  Improved effort on defense and better execution in their half court offense were keys to the Rams 42-3 victory in the A-game against the Fillies.  Leading the way for the Rams with 20 points was Janna H.  Kate H. added in 12 points, Carissa G. had 6 points, and Ryley N. scored 4 points. In the B-Game, the girls played improved defense but ended up losing a close one 8 to 10.  Scoring for the Rams was Savanna S. with 6 points and Lauren S.

7th Grade Girls Basketball started out their season last night against the Red Oak Tigers.  In the A-game, the girls had a solid 23 point first quarter to power themselves to a 52-30 win.  Opportune moments on offense were a theme for the night as 9 Rams scored, led by Jenna H.'s 21 points.  Kate H. added in 10 points, Delaney H. scored 5, and Hallee L. and Lauren S. scored 4 points each.  Also scoring for the Rams were Cordelia G., Ryley N., Molly W., and Carissa G.
