Ram Soccer Knocks Off Kuemper

Glenwood defeated Carroll Kuemper on the road 3-1 yesterday. The Rams scored their first goal (4:19) after Cole Fuoss's throw in assisted the goal by Jon Tallmon. Nach Vadillo scored the second goal at 21:29 in the first half. Glenwood's final goal was scored by John Palmer assisted by Turner Reich at 33:35. The Rams are now 4-4 on the season and 2-2 in the conference.

Glenwood Tennis Sweeps Thomas Jefferson

Glenwood defeated Thomas Jefferson yesterday 9-0 and are now 6-0 on the season. The Rams looked impressive in their victory over the Yellow Jackets. The boys had a busy week and I was glad to see the amount of energy by all the athletes during the meet. Next up for Glenwood will be the Mustangs on Tuesday. Shenandoah currently has a record of 3-2 on the season.

Ram Golf Wins Triangular

Yesterday the Ram Golf Team hosted a triangular tournament with Plattsmouth and Nebraska City. Glenwood won the triangular with a score of 154. Plattsmouth got second with 198 and Nebraska City finished third with 191.

Girls Golf Finished Second at Heartland Christian Golf Invite

Yesterday the girls golf team traveled to Council Bluffs and played in the 2017 Heartland Christian Golf Invite. Glenwood played well and finished second. Glenwood scored a 407 (18 holes) and was only two shots back from the first place team (Boyer Valley).

Glenwood's Gerret Reich was the Heartland Christian Christian Tournament Champion with a round of 89. Brittnee White and Allie Hundt tied for fifth place with rounds of 103.

Glenwood set three records on the day.

1. Garret Reich set a new individual record for the back nine with a round of 41.

Vadillo's Overtime Goal Lifts Rams Past Trojans

Glenwood traveled to Atlantic, Iowa for a matchup against the Atlantic Trojans. Atlantic scored first at the 27:48 mark to take the lead 1-0. The score would remain the same heading into halftime. A second half goal (62:28) by Jordan Renshaw tied up the game and the score remained tied at the end of regulation. A late goal (43 seconds to go in overtime) by Nacho Vadillo lifted the Rams past Atlantic 2-1!

 

Ram Golf Wins Triangular at Harlan

Yesterday the Rams traveled to Harlan, Iowa and took on the Cyclones and Knights. The Rams shot lights out and came away with the victory over Harlan and Carroll Kuemper. Glenwood scored a 159 while Kuemper came in second with a 162. Harlan finished third with a team score of 167. Jared Tigges of Kuemper was the top medalist with a score of 37. Colton Book of Glenwood was the second medalist with a 39 (won the tiebreaker by scorecard).

Ram Tennis Showed Composure in Close Win Over Harlan

Last night seven out of the nine varsity matches won were within three games. A close meet to say the least but the Rams dug deep and defeated the Harlan Cyclones 5-4 on the road. Alex Chekal continued his dominant streak at the number one singles spot for Glenwood. Chekal defeated Senior Isaac Stitz of Harlan 10-3. Senior Ram Sam Lauritsen’s experience showed in his singles match. Lauritsen was down 9-8 (going to ten) before coming back and getting the win over Alec Plagman in a tiebreaker 11-10 (7-5).

Girls Tennis Now 5-0 After Defeating Harlan

Girls Tennis defeated Harlan 9-0 to remain undefeated on the season (5-0). Ellie Osterloh and Ashley Petsche battled at number one singles before Osterloh pulled away at the end to win 8-5. Brooklyn Taylor and Ruby Crow both claimed their fifth singles win on the season after defeating Nicole Lange and Haley Swisher. Erin Stanley, Sierra Stouder and Cameron Rounds all bounced back from yesterday’s losses to win their singles matches 8-4, 8-3 and 8-4. “They all three played with more confidence.” said Coach Ohm
