As I close the chapter for the 2015-16 Glenwoodsports.com season, lets take a look back on what I think was a top ten sports season for the town. Glenwood had three State Champions! Matt Malcom at 152 lbs was a state champion, Molly Dean was a state champion in the 400m hurdles, and Linnaea Konfrst was a state champion in the discus. The football boys qualified for the playoffs and brought lots of excitement back to Friday night lights.

Tonight the Ram Softball team fell to the Creston Panthers 3-2 in the sub-state final. Glenwood jumped off to an early lead in the first inning behind three doubles from Ingoldsby, Starner, and Van Ness. The Rams would score two runs from those hits and had the lead over the Panthers until the fifth inning. Creston's bats came alive in the fifth inning and scored three runs to take the lead over the Rams. Glenwood played tough and fought hard the entire game! Great season girls!

Smiles were all around last night as the softball team defeated the Harlan Cyclones 7-5 in round one of district play. Senior Lyndie Van Ness pitched all six innings for the Rams to help the Rams make it to the next round. Harlan scored the first run of the game in the first inning to jump on top of the Rams. Behind great two out rally's the Rams battled the entire night to give them their seven runs. The Rams (21-12) will now face Lewis Central at Lewis Central on Saturday at 7 pm. Glenwood and Lewis Central split their regular city meetings.
