Rhodes Ends Great Golf Career at the State Tournament

Coach Joyner's recap-

Is there a better way to end a career than at a state tournament? Kobe has meant a great deal to Glenwood golf the past 4 years and I thank him for his contributions.

On Thursday, Kobe struggled to get off the tee and it seemed like he hit every single tree on the course. I'm really proud of the way he fought through the day. He played really well around the green, but needed 1 putts for pars only hitting 3 greens all day. He finished the day +10, 82 in a tie for 25th.

On Saturday the Glenwood Boys Tennis Team were one of the final 16 tennis teams left in the state. The boys first played North Polk in the round of 16. Glenwood defeated North Polk 5-1. Glenwood picked up singles wins from Chekal, Bertini, Konfrst, and Thompson and a doubles win from Lauritsen/Chekal.  The next round in the final eight the team qualified for the 2016 Iowa State Tennis Tournament and faced Boone, Iowa. The match was the best match I have been at in my entire tennis career, both playing and coaching. The boys played tough from start to finish and never gave up.
