Panthers Cause Turnovers and Escape the Rams

The showdown between Glenwood and Creston was everything I thought it would be. A tough and hard fought district 7 battle! Both teams went back and forth the entire night until the last couple of minutes when the Panthers secured the victory. Creston defeated Glenwood 27-24. The Panthers caused four turnovers against the Rams and at the end of the night that is what helped Creston capture the victory in Glenwood. The Ram defense held Schiltz under 100 yards on the ground and the Rams out gained Creston by 20 yards.

Last night the Glenwood Rams defeated the Creston Panthers in straight sets. Paige Hays lead the team in kills with seven while Katelyn Malcom was great on serves going 23/23. Seniors Kenna Strong and Tara Maxwell served well on senior night both going 8/9 from the service line.

Congrats ladies on a great win on senior night! GO RAMS!

#4 Creston vs. #9 Glenwood Preview

One last home game of the season and the game happens to be the best one of all season. Number four ranked in the state Creston is coming to town with a load of talent and a undefeated record on their back. The Panthers are lead by one of the best running backs in the state with Senior Chase Shiltz. After this year Shiltz will take his talents to Fargo, North Dakota and wrestle D1 but for now he currently has rushed for 918 yards and seventeen touchdowns. Shiltz is a beast and there is no other way to put it. He averages almost nine yards per carry.

The 7th graders played Lewis Central last night and beat them in 8 of 9 sets.  The A team started off each set down but fought back to win 25-18, 25-17, & 15-12.  This win was a total team effort.

The B team continued the domination winning 25-15, 25-12, & 15-12.  Improvements in served helped push the Rams past the Titans.

The C team lost a very close first set, 24-26.  Then came back and won 25-18 & 15-8.  The C team also had many girls contribute to the win.

The 8th grade volleyball girls caught Lewis Central by surprise last night when the Rams went on a “rampage”.  The girls cleaned up the loss they suffered last time they played and went on to a victory!  The A team won with scores of: 25-18, 25-17, and 15-10.  The victory truly was a team victory as the girls showed excellent teamwork.  In all three games, only 3 serves were missed leaving a serving percentage of 96%. Jozie K. came up big on the night with 22 of 22 serves, Grace B. had 10 of 10 and Kelly E. had 8 of 8.  The girls had a total of 108 hits with Elle S.
