8th Boys Basketball Stays Undefeated with Tough Defense

The boys 8th grade Ram basketball team took their unbeaten record to Kirn Jr. High yesterday for what turned out to be the toughest game of the season, only winning by 3 points in the end, 42-39. Glenwood took the floor against a very disciplined Kirn team, and played well in the first half, going into the break with a double-digit lead.

The Glenwood Dance Team will perform at the Iowa State Dance & Drill Team Association State Dance Competition tomorrow. The State Team Competition will be at Wells Fargo Arena/Hy-Vee Hall located in Des Moines, IA. Glenwood will compete at 1:27 and 3:20 tomorrow.

16th Annual Breakfast with Santa

REACH/SADD and the YMCA is having their 16th annual Breakfast with Santa this Saturday, December 3rd.

Location: Mills County YMCA

Time: 8:30-10:30

Cost: $5 dollars (Ages 12 and up), $3 dollars (Ages 2-11)

Lynx Outlast Glenwood

Last night the girls basketball team faced Abraham Lincoln for their second game of the season. The Lynx defeated the Rams 43-31 after a huge 17 point quarter. Coach Bowen said "Same trend as our last game, ran out of steam in the 4th quarter. As a team, we struggled to hit shots. We're getting a little better, but still a long ways to go!" Nikki Schuppan was the leading scorer for the Rams with eight points.

8th Grade Rams Off to 6-0 Start

Coach Berke's Recap- The 8th grade boys basketball team improved to 6-0 for the season last night with a 47-20 victory over the Red Oak Tigers. Lopsided from the get-go, the Rams led by as many as 32 points in the 3rd quarter thanks to patient offensive play and hard-nosed man defense.

Glenwood Drops 71 in Win at Thomas Jefferson

Tonight the boys basketball team traveled on the road to take on Thomas Jefferson. Glenwood won the game 71-53 against T.J. to pick up the win on the season opener. The Rams jumped out to an early lead and led the Yellow Jackets 17-11 after the first quarter. Early fouls by Andrew Blum gave him limited playing time in the first half but the young Rams played well and went into half leading 38-25.  Junior Nate Kennedy was the leading scorer at halftime with 12 (three 3's). A fifteen point third quarter by the Yellow Jackets cut the Ram lead to nine after three quarters of play.

8th Grade Rams Stay Hot Defeat Shenandoah

Coach Berke's recap vs. Shenandoah-

The 4-0 8th grade Rams boys basketball team played host to the Mustangs from Shenandoah last night in a game that proved to be a mismatch from the beginning. Glenwood jumped out to a 10 point lead in the first 6 minutes and never looked back, leading by 18 at the half and ending up winning the game with a comfortable 28 point victory.  Final score of the game was 50-22 in favor of the Rams.  That victory increases their record to an unbeaten 5-0.
