Three Rams Qualify for State Cross Country

Yesterday the Ram Cross Country Teams went to Atlantic for the 2016 3A State Qualifying Meet. Mason Parks was the boys qualifier for the Rams by finishing 8th in the meet. Mason ran a 17:26.35 which qualified him onto the state tournament. The team finished 5th with a team score of 128 and a team average of 18:03.00. Aubrey McIntyre and Lacey Jackson qualified for the girls. McIntyre finished 12th and Jackson finished 14th. Aubrey McIntyre ran a 20:48.84 and Lacey Jackson ran a 21:00.08. The team also finished 5th with a team score of 120. The team averaged a time of 21:33.88.

 

Glenwood Cross Country Ranked in 3A

The Iowa Association of Track Coaches new ranking are out and the Rams are ranked in the top 15. The boys team is ranked number 13th in 3A. The Rams are the only team in the Hawkeye 10 to be ranked in the top 15. The girls team is listed as a "team to watch" in 3A by the coaches.

Palmer, Lorimor Selected to ICCA All-State Cheerleading Team

Glenwood's Abby Lorimor and Haley Palmer were selected to the 2016-17 All- State Squad by the Iowa Cheerleading Coaches' Association. The team will perform during the IHSAA Boys State Basketball Tournament. Lorimor and Palmer will perform during half time of the Friday basketball games in Des Moines.

JV Volleyball Wins, Freshman and Varsity Falls at Kuemper

Last night the Ram Volleyball Team traveled on the road and took on the number one team in the Hawkeye Ten Carroll Kuemper. The freshman team lost 25-15 and 25-17. The girls finished their season with a record of 17-7. Glenwood's JV defeated Kuemper 25-22 and 29-27 and never missed a single serve. The girls now have a record of 24-2 overall. Glenwood's varsity played a tough team and was defeated 0-3 on the night. Kuemper defeated Glenwood 25-19, 25-3, and 25-14. Sierra Stouder finished with a team high 8 kills and served 6-6 from the service line.

Coach Howard's Recap from Volleyball Triangular

The 8th grade volleyball girls came to an official end of their season on Friday, Oct. 17 in a Triangular with Wilson and Kirn at A.L. The A and B teams were both successful in the tourney, both winning their pools and coming out with 1st place.  The A team easily handled Wilson with scores of: 25-7, 25-11.  The B team had success as well with scores of: 25-19, 25-18 in two.  The next round against Kirn was also Glenwood’s with A scores of: 25-10, 25-12 in two.  The B team also beat Kirn with scores of: 25-11, 25-5 in easily handled sets.

Rams Run Over Winterset

Friday night the Glenwood Rams bounced back from their loss and defeated Winterset 21-2. Glenwood is now 6-2 on the season and 4-2 in the district. Cole Loeffelbein was the player of the game with two touchdowns and rushed for 109 yards on 27 carries. Glenwood's defense caused three fumbles with Nate Nebel running one back for a 18 yard touchdown. Isaac Bales and Jon Stavas recovered the other two fumbles. Glenwood will travel to ADM on Friday for their last regular season game.
