7th Grade Girls Pick Up Second Straight Win

Coach Haynes Recap-On Tuesday night, the 7th grade girls basketball team took on the Shenandoah Fillies in their second game of the season.  Improved effort on defense and better execution in their half court offense were keys to the Rams 42-3 victory in the A-game against the Fillies.  Leading the way for the Rams with 20 points was Janna H.  Kate H. added in 12 points, Carissa G. had 6 points, and Ryley N. scored 4 points. In the B-Game, the girls played improved defense but ended up losing a close one 8 to 10.  Scoring for the Rams was Savanna S. with 6 points and Lauren S.

Coach Haynes Recap On 7th Grade Win Over Red Oak

7th Grade Girls Basketball started out their season last night against the Red Oak Tigers.  In the A-game, the girls had a solid 23 point first quarter to power themselves to a 52-30 win.  Opportune moments on offense were a theme for the night as 9 Rams scored, led by Jenna H.'s 21 points.  Kate H. added in 10 points, Delaney H. scored 5, and Hallee L. and Lauren S. scored 4 points each.  Also scoring for the Rams were Cordelia G., Ryley N., Molly W., and Carissa G.

Koehler Brings Home the Winter Nationals Champion Belt

Glenwood youth wrestler Mason Koehler competed in the 2018 Winter Nationals this weekend. The event was held at the Ralston Arena in Nebraska. Koehler finished in first place at 120 and got to bring home the CHAMPIONSHIP BELT. Mason also competed in the 130 bracket where he went 2-1 on the weekend.

Anderson and Sanders Crowned Champions at Jack Mendenhall Invitational

Saturday the Glenwood wrestling team traveled to Ames, Iowa for the Jack Mendenhall Invitational. Seventeen teams competed in the tournament from Iowa and Nebraska. Glenwood’s Caleb Sanders and Trevor Anderson both won their weight classes and were crowned champions at the Jack Mendenhall Invitational.


Knights Get the Win After Big Second Half Over Glenwood

Friday night the Kuemper Knights defeated Glenwood 64-35 behind a huge second half. At halftime Glenwood trailed Kuemper 25-24. Once the second half started the Knights caught fire and scored 39 second half points to Glenwood’s 11.


Brooklyn Bakke lead the way for the Knights. Bakke scored a game high 16 points. Joslyn Lewis and Sidney Lucy each had seven points to lead the Rams.


Glenwood 17-7-4-7=35

Kuemper 11-14-18-21=64

Mohr Lifts Glenwood Past Kuemper

The Rams are now 9-0 on the season after defeating Kuemper 57-55 on Friday. Glenwood’s Senior guard Nate Mohr lead the way for Glenwood by scoring 23 points. Mohr would score 17 of his 23 in the first half to give the Rams a 29-22 lead at halftime. Freshman Ryan Blum stepped up big for the Rams in the second half. Blum would score all nine of his points in the second half. The biggest basket for the Freshman came on Glenwood’s last possession where he would make the game winning basket on a drive to the basket.

Glenwood Takes Unblemished Record on Road for Tough Matchup with Kuemper

Tonight the Rams will travel the 117 miles up to Carroll, Iowa to take on the Knights of Carroll Kuemper. The 8-0 Rams will face the 6-2 Knights in a tough Hawkeye-Ten battle. Kuemper is always a tough gym to play in. Their fans are great and the way their bleachers sit in that gymanism it feels as if fans are right on the court. The Knights have lost both of their games to St. Albert this season by a total of five points.


Rams Defeat Tigers and Mustangs but Fall to the Titans as Sherry Captures Win 150

This dual started off at 106 and the Titans capitalized. Lewis Central would win the first six matches to give the Titans a 27-0 lead. At 145 Trevor Anderson won the battle between two ranked wrestlers by defeating Dalton Mohatt 3-2 to get the Rams on the board. Kingery and Waugh would win the next two weights for Lewis Central before Glenwood rallied off five straight wins (four falls) to end the dual. Lewis Central defeated Glenwood 40-30 to give the Titans their first win over Glenwood in five years.
