November has arrived and that means basketball season is starting. This year Glenwood is set to make a push for the state tournament so I thought it would be fun to take a in-depth look at some teams to watch out for.

First off let us rewind to last season and take a look at the teams in the Iowa Basketball State Tournament. The teams that qualified in Class 3A were the following: Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Pella, West Delaware, Dallas Center-Grimes, CR-Xavier, Mount Pleasant, Waverly-Shell Rock and Atlantic.

Mohr Commits Early to Focus on Senior Season

Last night Glenwood Senior Nate Mohr verbally committed to play basketball for Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska. The Wildcats are currently an NCAA Division II program that plays in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

The Senior guard wanted to verbally commit so he could concentrate on his Senior season. Mohr and the rest of the Rams will look to make some noise this season not only in the Hawkeye Ten but in the entire state as well.

Glenwood Senior Andrew Blum has announced that he will continue his academic and football career at Northwest Missouri State University. Andrew Blum played quarterback his senior season and took the Rams to an 8-2 record. Blum threw for 774 yards and scored five touchdowns through the air. He would rush for an additional 1,053 yards and scored ten touchdowns on the ground.

Rams Battle Warriors in First Round Showdown

Nick Stavas's picture

Every team in the state of Iowa strives to make a postseason appearance. However, only 16 teams are selected to compete for a state title at the end of the season. For the third year in a row, the Glenwood Rams (8-1, 6-1) earned a playoff bid after securing the runner-up spot in Class 3A District 7. Having won five straight games in blowout fashion, Glenwood’s momentum is at a season high as they prepare for a first-round showdown with fourth-ranked Sergeant Bluff-Luton (9-0, 7-0) Friday night.
