Frazee was Key in Third Conference Win for Ram Soccer

Ram soccer picked up their third conference win tonight vs. Atlantic. Atlantic scored first to put the Rams down 0-1 before Glenwood would come back and win 3-1. Goals by Ben Frazee (15th and 26th minutes) and Andy Staiert helped the Rams take the victory. Both Conrad Millar and Andy Staiert recorded assists in the game. Ben Frazee was awarded the player of the game.

Way to go boys, keep it up!

Red Oak's Doubles Help Defeat Girls Tennis

This afternoon the girls tennis team played indoors due to the rain at Red Oak. The Tigers would give the Rams their first loss of the season 3-6. After singles, Glenwood and Red Oak were tied 3-3. In doubles play is where the Tigers would close up their victory winning all three matches. The Rams are now 4-1 on the season.

Girls Soccer Wins in Shootout

Tonight the girls faced Treynor in a tough match-up. The Rams won 1-0 over Treynor in a shootout. Glenwood had a 22 shots with 14 of them on goal. Ram goal keeper Rileigh Spahn had 13 saves on the night.

"The game was back and forth the entire time.  When we were able to play our game of possession is when we were most successful.  Both teams had opportunities at goal.  Scoreless after 2 overtimes, we went into a shootout."

Girls Soccer Falls to Sioux City

Glenwood girls soccer was defeated by Sioux City on Saturday. Rileigh Spahn had 26 saves on the aafternoon. 

Coach Benson's recap of the game-

"We played defense most of the first half trying to prevent #7 Elyse Huber from scoring since she is their leading goal scorer and a Division 1 recruit to UNL.  We played solid defense and were able to prevent her from scoring until 5 seconds left in the first half.  We got tired right at the end of the first half and that was all she needed to find an opening in our defense."


Molly Dean Earns Athlete of the Meet at Sioux City

The girls track team traveled to Sioux City over the weekend for a track meet. Molly Dean was awarded the Athlete of the Meet. Molly finished first place in the 100m hurdles (broke school record) and the 400m hurdles. Molly's time in the 400m hurdles (broke school record) ranked best in the state this year out of all classes. She would also go on and help win the 4x200 and shuttle hurdle relay events. Miranda Ruth finished second place in the 100 hurdles. Linnaea Konfrst also had a great day in the field events. She would place second in the discus and 3rd in the shot put. 

Ram Track Runs Well at Sioux City

Coach Starner's recap of the Sioux City Meet-"We made the award stand on 6 different occasions. (SHR- 2nd, 4×200-3rd, Von Essen- 400 LH- 3rd, Petersen- 400 LH- 5th, 4×100- 3rd and 4×400- 1st) The 4×400 was a new meet record."

Set 5 new season best on the day: 3200 M. Run- Covington & Ingels, 110 HH- Tye, 4×200.

" (I'm) Very pleased with the day's performances. Its not your typical meet that our kids are used to. Its an extremely long meet that wears on you mentally and physically. Being able to get on the medal stand is a good thing."

Ram Golf Wins the LC Invite

Yesterday the Boys Golf team traveled to Fox Run Golf Course in Council Bluffs, Iowa and played in the Lewis Central Invite. The boys won the meet with a score of 330. Nodaway Valley finished second with a score of 338. Ryan Leath was medalist with a score of 77. Senior Kobe Rhodes finished 4th with a score of 80.

Middle School Boys Track Results

Clarinda hosted the middle school boys track meet last night. The 7th grade team from Glenwood finished 3rd place with 92 team points. Harlan won the meet with 150 total points. In the 8th grade division the Rams won the meet with a score of 175.00. Harlan finished second with 114 total points.


Key Finishes for the Rams

7th Grade

100m- Sully Woods finished first with a time of 13.73

200m- Sully Woods finished 5th with a time of 29.36, Logan Clark finished 6th with a time of 31.18

400m- Ryan Blum finished 4th with a time of 1:03.50
