Ram Baseball 13-9

 

Glenwood 6 Shenandoah 4

Pierce Harrington was awarded the wing after pitching three innings and only allowing one run off two hits. The Rams scored three runs in both the first and fifth innings. Sophomore Cade Van Ness went 3-4 from the plate and drove in two runs. Glenwood scored five of their runs off RBIs.

Slaughter Strikes Out 13 in Win Over Atlantic

Last night Glenwood Senior AJ Slaughter recorded thirteen strikeouts in Glenwood’s 7-0 win at Atlantic. Slaughter gave up zero runs on three hits and three walks in six innings. The Rams scored their seven runs off seven RBIs. Dax Lappala went 2-4 at the plate while scoring two runs and recorded one RBI. Glenwood’s win is their fifth straight victory (Clear Lake, Red Oak, Red Oak, Clarinda and Atlantic). The Rams are now 12-7 on the season and will travel to Sioux City East Friday.

Game one went to Cole Loeffelbein on the mound while Slaughter, Harrington and Holiday all pitched for the Rams. Loeffelbein went 2-2 from the plate as Glenwood scored all five runs in the eighth inning. Andrew Holiday and Loeffelbein both recorded two RBIs in game one.

Bishop Heelan and L.C. Give Rams Two Losses

Sioux City Bishop Heelan 14 Glenwood 0

Glenwood was defeated 14-0 last Wednesday against S.C. Bishop Heelan. Andrew Clay of Heelan pitched all five innings against the Rams. Clay gave up zero runs against the Rams on three hits. Sophomore Ethan Fisher and Senior AJ Slaughter each recorded a hit for the Rams. Sophomore Colton Schutte was given the loss for the Rams. Schutte pitched 3 ⅔ innings giving up seven runs on six hits.

 

 

Ram Baseball Splits with Knights, Fall Against S B-L

Thursday night Glenwood traveled to Kuemper for a double header. Glenwood lost the first game 3-4 to the Knights and would then defeat Kuemper 9-7 in the second. The Rams had a quick turnaround when they played Sergeant Bluff-Luton on Friday. Sergeant B-L would defeat Glenwood 14-1. Glenwood is now 4-3 on the season and will play at Clarinda tonight.

Rams Look Impressive in Win at Abraham Lincoln

Last night the baseball team traveled to Council Bluffs and took on the Lynx of Abraham Lincoln. The Rams scored in six of the seven innings and defeated A.L. 15-6. Glenwood would score seven of their fifteen runs in the seventh inning. Senior Jake King was awarded the win after pitching 2 ⅔ innings. Senior Cole Loeffelbein had a great night at the plate. Loeffelbein went 2-2 with two RBIs and a home run (his second on the season). Loeffelbein would also score three runs along with Mavrick Decker and Ethan Fisher.

Glenwood Baseball 2-1 After Week One

Glenwood started their baseball season last week and the boys ended their first week with a 2-1 record. The boys picked up wins against Creston (8-2) and Council Bluffs, Thomas Jefferson (9-0). Glenwood’s only loss was at St. Albert on Thursday when the Falcons took down the Rams 7-3.
