Knights Get the Win After Big Second Half Over Glenwood

Friday night the Kuemper Knights defeated Glenwood 64-35 behind a huge second half. At halftime Glenwood trailed Kuemper 25-24. Once the second half started the Knights caught fire and scored 39 second half points to Glenwood’s 11.

 

Brooklyn Bakke lead the way for the Knights. Bakke scored a game high 16 points. Joslyn Lewis and Sidney Lucy each had seven points to lead the Rams.

 

Glenwood 17-7-4-7=35

Kuemper 11-14-18-21=64

Tigers Defeat Rams After Big Fourth Quarter

The Rams traveled to Red Oak tonight and took on the 4-1 Tigers. Glenwood and Red Oak battled the first three quarters before a twenty point fourth quarter helped Red Oak defeat Glenwood 49-39.

 

Red Oak and Glenwood went basket for basket in the first two quarters of play. The Tigers went into halftime with a 19-18 lead over the Rams. Junior Brielle Smith caught fire and scored nine points in the third to give Glenwood the lead 32-29 heading into the fourth.

 

Balanced Scoring Lifts Glenwood Past Atlantic

Glenwood girls basketball defeated Atlantic 56-40 on Tuesday. The girls picked up their second win of the season. Joslyn Lewis was awarded the player of the game after scoring thirteen points on the court. Lewis hit some big three pointers early to help the Rams get off to a great start.  The Rams had balanced scoring on Tuesday night. Seven girls scored for the Rams with four Rams scoring nine points or more. Nicole Schuppan also had a great game by scoring thirteen points. Consistency was also key in Glenwoods’ win.

Lady Rams Fall on the Road

Tuesday night the girls traveled on the road for the second game of the season. Abraham Lincoln defeated Glenwood 59-35. Glenwood struggled on offense in three quarters but looked impressive in the second quarter by scoring twenty points. At halftime the Rams were down 29-24 after falling behind 20-9 in the first quarter. The Lynx would score thirty points in the second half against the Rams to secure the victory.

Sidney Lucy was the leading scorer for Glenwood. Lucy scored a team high eleven points. Junior Brielle Smith was second in scoring with six points.

Warriors Defeat Lady Rams at Districts

Last night Glenwood traveled to Sergeant Bluff to take on the Sergeant Bluff Luton Warriors. The Warriors defeated Glenwood 68-37. Sgt. Bluff got out to an early lead and led Glenwood at halftime 57-29. The Warriors advanced to the second round and will take on Lewis Central.

Glenwood finished the season 1-9 in the conference and 3-19 overall.

Congratulations Glenwood on a season where there was improvement through out the entire season. You girls came a long way this year and will only get better! Keep it up, GO RAMS!

Lady Rams vs. Sergeant Bluff-Luton Preview

Tonight the girls basketball team is traveling to Sergeant Bluff-Luton to take on the Warriors. SB-L is 13-8 on the season. The Warriors shoot 39.2% from the floor and 29.6% from three point range. 5'8" Sophomore Abby Wisecup is the leading scorer for the Warriors with 14.8 points per game. Wisecup is also second in rebounds with 132 total. 6' Junior Kylee Christensen is also a great player for the Warriors. Christensen averages 10 points per game and leads the team in rebounds with 181 total. Christensen leads the team in blocks while Wisecup leads the team in steals with 76.
