Bertini Throws Complete Game in Win Over Clarinda

Taryn Bertini was the winning pitcher for the Rams after defeating the Cardinals 7-1. Bertini threw all seven innings for the Rams. Glenwood is now 16-3 on the season and 10-2 in the Hawkeye Ten.

Brielle Smith hit a two run home run to lead the Rams. Brooklyn Taylor also had a great night after going 3-4 from the plate. Glenwood scored two runs in the third, four runs in the fourth and two runs in the seventh. The Rams scored their seven runs on seven hits.

Rams Off to Great Start with Five Conference Wins

The Glenwood Softball Team is currently 6-0 on the season. Glenwood has recorded five of their six wins in the conference column. The Rams have only allowed four runs in six games while scoring 57 (pretty impressive).

Tonight the Rams will host Clarinda for a conference game. Clarinda is currently 1-5 on the season.

Five Rams Earn All Conference

Five Ram Softball Athletes earned spots on the 2017 Hawkeye Ten All-Conference Team. Senior Sara Ingoldsby and Sophomore Brielle Smith earned First Team. Sophomore Sydney Biermann and Sophomore Brooklyn Taylor earned Second Team. Sophomore Cameron Rounds earned Honorable Mention.

Rams Will Face the Titans in Round One of Regionals Tonight

Tonight the Glenwood Softball Team will travel to Council Bluffs and take on Lewis Central. The Rams will play the Titans in the first round of Class 4A Regionals. Glenwood is 19-14 on the season while Lewis Central is 30-9-1. Lewis Central defeated the Rams twice this year.

Smith Homers Twice as Glenwood Sweeps the Tigers

Sophomore Brielle Smith had the hot bat last night by hitting two home runs in the victories over Red Oak. Glenwood won the first game 12-6 and the second 6-3. Abi Schultz, Brielle Smith (2) and Sydney Biermann hit home runs for the Rams. Glenwood is now second in the Hawkeye Ten Conference with a record of 10-2 and 16-5 overall. Next up for the Rams will be Clarinda tonight in Glenwood.

Biermann Strikes Out Seven in Win Over Creston

Glenwood defeated Creston 6-2 over the Creston Panthers last night. Sydney Biermann was great from the pitching circles by striking out seven Panthers in the win. Sophomore Brooklyn Taylor had a great game at the plate by driving in three runs and going 3-3 from the plate. The Rams are now 11-4 on the season and will play a doubleheader tomorrow against the 7-10 Harlan Cyclones.

Lewis Central 2 Glenwood 1

 

Last Thursday the Titans of Lewis Central defeated Glenwood 2-1. All three runs were scored in the third inning (Two for LC and One for Glenwood). Sydney Biermann pitched all seven innings for the Rams. Biermann gave up two runs on four hits and recorded three strikeouts on the night. Senior Sara Ingoldsby and Junior Arianna Springer recorded the two hits for Glenwood while Junior Maddie Liddell scored the only run.
