Middle School Boys Track Results

Clarinda hosted the middle school boys track meet last night. The 7th grade team from Glenwood finished 3rd place with 92 team points. Harlan won the meet with 150 total points. In the 8th grade division the Rams won the meet with a score of 175.00. Harlan finished second with 114 total points.

 

Key Finishes for the Rams

7th Grade

100m- Sully Woods finished first with a time of 13.73

200m- Sully Woods finished 5th with a time of 29.36, Logan Clark finished 6th with a time of 31.18

400m- Ryan Blum finished 4th with a time of 1:03.50

Girls Track Runs Away with Lady Ram Relays

The lady Rams hosted the Ram Relays last night. The girls dominated the track meet by scoring 178 points in their win. Second place was Abraham Lincoln with 113 team points.

Coach Faust's recap of the team's victory- "

We need to do a good job taking care of bodies and staying healthy as we go down the home stretch of the season.  It is important that we don't get complacent, but stay hungry to get better and follow the process that it takes to maximize our potential.  

 

Mustangs Just Edge Out Rams at Mustang Relays

Last night the Ram Track team traveled to Shenandoah for a track meet. The boys scored 137 total points but it was just shy of first place. The Rams placed second behind Shenandoah who scored 140.5 points. In third place was Clarinda with 90 points. Glenwood's speedster Carter Von Essen ran great as he won the 400m and was a member of the winning 4x400 team. The Rams also won 4x800 and the 1600 DMR on the night. Nate Serrano had a great toss which helped him win the shot put while Caleb Peterson picked up first place in the 400m hurdles.

Girls Track Runs Away with Lady Tiger Relays

Last night the girls track team traveled to Red Oak for the Lady Tiger Relays. The Rams won with a team score of 177 total points. Creston finshed second with 148 and Shenandoah fished third with 88.

Devon Boomer finished third with a time of 28.21

Paige Hays finished sixth with a time of 1:12.64

Molly Dean finished first with a time of 2:34.02

Rams Finish Second at Ram Relays

Monday night the Rams hosted the Ram Relays which consisted of nine teams. Lewis Central won the meet with a score of 144 team points. Glenwood finished second with 134 points.

1st and 2nd Place finishers for the Rams were

1st place for Nate Kennedy in the 400M with a time of 52.72 (Caleb Peterson finished second with a time of 52.97)

2nd place for Carter Von Essen in the 400 hurdles with a time of 56.95

2nd place for Andrew Blum in the 800m with a time of 2:08.71

Ram Track Sweeps 9/10 COED RELAYS

Saturday Glenwood hosted the 2016 9/10 Ram COED RELAYS. The girls won with a total score of 154 points. Thomas Jefferson finished in second place with 138, Atlantic finished third with 101.5, and Clarinda finsihed fourth with 55.5. The boys won with a score of 186 points. Lewis Central finished second with 116.5, and Atlantic finished third with 94 points.

Congrats boys and girls! Keep up the hard work. GO RAMS!

Former Ram Jones Running Well at Iowa State

Derek Jones who graduated from Glenwood and is currently a junior at Iowa State is running a great season. Derek recently ran in the Tulsa Duels. Derek won the 400M hurdles with a time of 53.39. He also was a member of the winning 4x400 team for Iowa State. Up next for Derek is the Stanford Invitational on April 1st.

So far Derek has been Academic All-Big 12 First Team 2015 and Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team 2014.

 

At the 2016 Big 12s in February Derek finished 5th place with a time of 1:11.24. He also placed 6th in the 4x400 real with a team time of 3:12.43.

Ram Track Sweeps COED Home Meet

Last night Glenwood hosted a Hawkeye 10 Southern COED Meet. The Rams would not disappoint their home crowd as they swept the competition.  The girls won the meet with 157.5 total points while the boys won their meet with 170 points. Shenandoah would finish second in both girls and boys. Coach Faust provided some highlights on the girls performances.
