8th Grade Volleyball Picks Up Win Over the Titans

Coach Howard's Recap - The 8th grade volleyball girls met LC at home Tuesday night. The A team managed to scrape up a win.   Scores were 25-11, 25-20, and 15-10.  The girls struggled in the second set and seemed to miss key serves and defensive opportunities. The girls had 7 net violations and need to clean up that play.   The team will regroup in practice and come back ready for Creston.  There were a few highlights: Maddie C. had a 7 point serve streak in set one, Lauren R.

Coach Ohm's Recap on the win over Shenandoah

 

A team - Dominated the Phillies in the first game 25-9.  They started the 2nd game with a perfect pass, set, hit from Hallee, Kaylyn, and Delaney.  They won that game 25-7 and then won a close 3rd game 15-13.  Kaylyn B led the Rams on the service line.  She served 14 consecutive serves in game 2.  Jenna H led the team in passing and Delaney H led them in hits with 4.  

Rams Fall on the Road Against Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln defeated Glenwood last night 3-0. The Lynx won 25-23, 25-15 and 25-22 over the Rams. Freshman Elle Scarborough lead the team in kills with nine. Junior Paige Hays was second on the team with four. Overall the team had twenty-three kills on the evening. Ram Senior Sierra Stouder lead the team in digs with twenty.


Paige Hays was the Jeff Henry Player of the Game. Hays had four kills, four blocks and went 12-13 on serves.

 

Rams Sweep the Monarchs

Despite having a slow start, the Rams swept Denison 3-0. Glenwood was down 24-23 in the first set but came back to win 26-24. A handful of unforced errors by both teams kept the first set close. The second set was all Glenwood as they defeated Denison by 12 points to win 25-13. In the third set Glenwood won 25-19 despite leading 13-2 early on in the set.

The 7th grade VB team hosted Red Oak last night for their season opener.

The A team dominated the Tigers 25-12, 25-7, and 15-1.  87% serving from the entire team made the difference.  Delaney H. really stood out on the service line.  Out of her 33 serves, 22 of them were aces.  Taylor B. and Jenna H. both finished with 3 hits.  

The B team lost (11-25, 18-25, & 8-15) but showed improvements as the night went on.

Ram Volleyball Wins Home Opener Over Shenandoah

In front of their home crowd for the first time this season the Rams did not disappoint. Despite dropping the first set to the Shenandoah Fillies, the Rams would win three straight sets to defeat Shenandoah 3-1. “It was an earned win, we started off slow just like this weekend. We had a lot of nervous energy coming into this first game.” said Coach Harvey on playing in their first home match. The crowd was loud and active throughout the exciting Hawkeye Ten match-up as the Rams were excited to finally have a home match.

 

Three Rams Earn Spots on Trojan All-Tournament Volleyball Team

This weekend the Rams traveled to Atlantic, Iowa for the Trojan Varsity Volleyball Tournament. Glenwood went 3-2 on the day while Brielle Smith, Cameron Rounds and Elle Scarborough made the All-Tournament Team. St. Albert won the tournament after going 5-0 on the day. The second place team (Treynor) finished 4-1. Round one went to Glenwood as they swept Winterset 2-0. The game scores were 21-19 and 21-15. Glenwood had sixteen kills and served seven aces against Winterset. Brielle Smith served four aces to lead the team.

Rams Fall Short in Fifth Set at Red Oak

The Red Oak Tigers defeated Glenwood last night 3-2. A great match-up in the Hawkeye Ten went right down to the wire with the Tigers winning 15-12 in the fifth set. Red Oak and Glenwood are both 1-1 in the conference after Tuesday night. Glenwood has an overall record of 6-5 on the season and will have a week off before their home opener next week. The Rams will face Shenandoah on Tuesday.
